Review of Standard AS/NZS 4421:2011 ‘Guard and patrol security services’

Standards Australia has convened a Working Group under the technical committee EL-031 to review and update the Standard AS/NZS 4421:2011 ‘Guard and patrol security services’. The first Working Group meeting will be held on 2 February 2023, with a view to producing a draft for public consultation by September 2023.

Protective security services have significantly evolved since the last standard was released in 2011. The standard specifies the perceived minimum requirements that are attainable by all security companies, regardless of size, and that are necessary to provide a professional and competent service to clients.

 The Standard is intended to contribute to the delivery of complaint guard and patrol security services and will undergo a full review by the Working Group to adapt to the rapidly changing requirements of clients and industry.
