Psychosocial hazards and new legislation

A psychosocial hazard is anything that increases the risk of work-related stress. Amendments to the OHS regulations are to be introduced through the Occupational Health and Safety Amendment (Psychological Health) Regulations.

 The existing OHS framework imposes duties on employers to take reasonably practicable steps to ensure employee health and safety. The framework specifically applies to risks whether physical and/or psychological health.
