Gender Equality

The Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) encourages gender equality across all Australian workplaces. A recent publication by AHRC highlighted issues relevant to gender inequality and how workplaces can seek to overcome this anomaly.

The AHRC publication explains:

  1. in recent decades women have made significant strides towards equality with men;
  2. females make up just over half of the Australian population;
  3. the National gender pay gap is 17.1%
  4. Australian women account for 92% of primary carers for children with disabilities, 70% of primary carers for parents and 52% of primary carers for partners

The AHRC also explains the various barriers to gender equality and what employers can do to address this ongoing concern.
