Conference Presentation at Kuala Lumpur

Whilst moving through the Region, our Deputy Chair Dr Tony Zalewski was invited to present at the ASIS Malaysia Security Conference. His presentation was well-received in the area of OVA (Occupational Violence and Aggression)

Whilst at the conference Tony also presented a copy of his recent book "An Introduction to Security Risk Management" to the Chapter Chair Mr El Ching.

Within his presentation Dr Zalewski explained the Australian context of OVA, some recent research in the area and the extent of risk associated with public-facing staff.

Some interesting perspectives were highlighted including specific risks in the area of domestic violence and its impact upon a local workforce, especially where a work colleague was confronted by a former partner in or around the workplace.

Tony reported the Malaysia Chapter is progressing well with a motivated and most professional Executive Committee.
