Casino Crowd Controllers Under Investigation

Crown casino security staff are under investigation for allegedly using excessive force in removing a patron from the casino according to media reports. This incident is subject to litigation in the County Court.

It is well-reported that crowd control presents more operational risks than any other area within security.  The WorkSafe Victoria Guide reinforces that use of force must be carefully and strategically addressed as part of operations.  This warning reinforces the importance of such considerations in assessing risk associated with crowd and patron management.

The Plaintiff in this case claims his injuries included a shoulder injury, anxiety and depression albeit these are allegations yet to be proven.

It is not suggested that Crown or its staff/agents have done anything wrong here however the incident highlights the ongoing risks within crowd control.
