ASIS 7th Middle East Conference Report

Our Chair Dr Tony Zalewski and Mr Paul McDonald recently travelled to Dubai to attend the ASIS 7th Middle East Conference and Exhibition. The conference was conducted under the Patronage of His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security, Dubai, UAE.

The conference was opened on Sunday 21 February by the ASIS International 2016 President Mr David Davis CPP.

Over 500 delegates were in attendance and enjoyed a range of educational sessions from anti-terrorism through cyber risks and intelligence gathering in the context of operational security.

Four closed invitation-only workshops were also conducted for Chief Security Officers.  The sessions included confidential case studies associated with crisis management, the role of research in security and risks associated with the local region.

Overall the conference and exhibition was an outstanding success and our delegates recommend it for Chapter members.

The next Middle East Conference will be conducted around February 2017.  We will advertise confirmed dates later in the year.
