700 New Jobs in Victorian NBN Cyber Security Centre

National Broadband Network (NBN) has announced the creation of 700 new high skill jobs for the Cyber Security Operations Centre to be established in Docklands.

The 700 jobs will be filled over the next five years with 400 over the first two years and 300 more generated by the project in construction, maintenance and technical support roles.

The Centre will become the first line of defence against cyber threats and will provide services including detection, identification, triage and management of cyber events and incident response.

The Victorian government has allegedly spent around $3.5 million to guarantee the Centre will be situated within Victoria.

Recently the Prime Minister announced the NBN will be fully completed by 2020.
