Toby Maywald - GHD

Toby is an experienced people movement consultant and crowd modeller, with further background in transport modelling and operations.
In 2021 Toby joined GHD Movement Strategies London, the largest group of movement and behaviour specialists globally who continue to enhance the performance and security of buildings and the places that serve our communities.
As a Senior Movement Strategies Advisor Toby has provided operational and design advice on several stadia and events around the world, including Concerts at Anfield Stadium, Qatar World Cup Last Mile planning and the design of the New Caulfield Racecourse Grandstand.
Following his return home to Melbourne, Toby is focused on bringing the wealth of knowledge possessed by the global Movement Strategies team into the Australian planning sphere to improve how we prepare for major events in stadiums and the public realm.

Eric Strik - Victoria Police

Senior Sergeant Eric Strik brings an impressive 35-year career with a robust operational background in policing spending most of his career in frontline roles in the Melbourne and Port Phillip policing areas.

Notably, he served as the Municipal Emergency Response Coordinator for 8 years, demonstrating his expertise in managing complex emergency scenarios.

In his current role as Officer in Charge at the State Event Planning Unit (SEPU), Eric oversees the coordination and management of policing security overlays for significant state-led international and national events. He works closely with the AFL, A League Soccer, NRL, Australian Grand Prix Corporation, Australia Open Tennis and Music Event promoters planning the policing response to support the safe delivery of events and community safety,

His responsibilities include the planning for Dignitary visits to Victoria, facilitating motorcades, managing state funerals and memorials, and ensuring the security of high- profile government guests.

Eric maintains strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including venues, stadiums, event promoters, risk management consultants, government agencies, and the Victoria Police Counter Terrorism Command.

Three standout moments in Eric’s career include his decade-long involvement with the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Taylor Swift experience, and his recent role as a guest of the US at the 2023 Super Bowl.

Joe Falzon - AFL

With three decades of experience in the Security industry, Joe’s expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of Security disciplines, including physical Security, threat and risk assessment and emergency response planning. His strategic insights and hands-on approach have made him a trusted confidant to the major events sector, corporate and private clients alike.

Joe joined the Australian Football League Integrity and Security Department in 2021 and has continued to play a pivotal role in managing aspects of security at Marvel Stadium and within the AFL domain. His expertise has been crucial in safeguarding large-scale events.

A strong advocate of preventative security, Joe focuses on proactive measures to mitigate potential risks, significantly enhancing the security posture of the organisations he serves.
