Victoria's Alcohol and Drug Action Plan 2013-2017

The Victorian Government has released its Action Plan that explains how a whole of government approach will assist to minimise the alcohol and drug toll.

The Plan acknowledges the misuse of alcohol and drugs affects community health, families, the local economy and the lives of Victorians. It also has a direct correlation to the extent of activity throughout the criminal justice system, from prosecutions to correctional measures.

Victoria's 15 point plan includes the case for change through effective regulation, changing drinking culture and improvements to community education.

The Plan is attached to this email and is a must for all members of the community.  It is also essential that risk assessors take notice of the lessons learnt to date and how systems of workplace security and safety need to align with objectives of the Plan.
