NSW Report Confirms Violence Reduction in Entertainment Precincts

Across Australia the issue of alcohol-related violence within entertainment precincts has long been known and involved a number interventions including lockouts, patron ID scanning and situational crime control strategies. A recent report used various data sources between 2004 and 2013 to show a decrease in alcohol-related assaults.

The report concluded the majority of alcohol-related assaults and emergency department presentations involve young people and there was a trend of violence reductions in the CBD and across Sydney.
