Five Steps for Optimising Crisis Notification

Dorian Amstel CPP is the Senior Director of Physical Security for Dyncorp International, a USA military contractor with operations in the Middle East.

Dorian recommends the following:

1.  Cooperate by implementing a crisis notification system through accurate policies and procedures.

2.  Delegate by appointing a system administrator, such as head of crisis management or similar.

3.  Regulate by establishing distinct administrative rights and limits so that employees are personally identifiable during any crisis communication.

4.  Train staff to be comfortable with utilising physical communication systems equipment.

5.  Test to ensure employees are able to meet relevant challenges as crisis communication will be essential in minimising risk.
