Australia’s New Five-Tier Alert System Announced Today

Australia has a new five-tier terror alert system. Although the actual threat level within Australia has not changed the new system makes the threat level more comprehensible according to the Federal Government.

Attorney-General George Brandis (pictured) said changing from the previous four-tier system would "create more nuance in the system, particularly at the upper end."

The new system has five tiers to indicate an attack is not expected, possible, probable, expected or certain.

Our first event in March 2016 will focus on the implications of terror threats and responses.  We will be uploading details of the March event in the next few weeks.
